Scotland portrayed properly on Canadian travel programme

Was watching a Canadian travel program – it got Scotland to a tee…..it was raining when they filmed which was funny.  They also pointed out the difference between Scotland and England which was accurate also.

Visiting Edinburgh castle, interviewing a piper about his sporan and what he kept under his hat, the gun at Edinburgh castle – very accurate.  Also some better known pubs in Edinburgh.

Good to see some people can get it right from the tourists point of view!

I came across Archie Mcphee webstore the other day, beautifully presented and enterprising, yet selling utter novelty crap.

I thought it was too good to be true – Scottish boy goes to Yankland, becomes cyber-business man and romps home a clear winner.  But nay, Archie McPhee is in fact a dude from North Dakota and doesn’t appear to have been born in Scotland.

Ach well, it’s good marketing strat anyway….!

Tartan Army

The Tartan Army are not in fact an army, but instead loyal football fans who follow the Scotland team the ends of planet earth.  No matter how bad they play, no matter how many goals they let in, the ‘Army’ is there for them.

You may see The Tartan Army in airports frequently – dressed in kilts and Scotland tops, typically with berets too.  Unlike English soccer fans, The Tartan Army are exceptionally well behaved and are true ambassadors for Scotland.  I can’t speak any more highly of their attitude abroad.

All we now need to do is win the world cup, er, I mean qualify for the world cup….
